Susanne
Susanne is an author of dual Iranian and American heritage. Her mother and father met in New Jersey in the 1960s and she grew up spending the summers in Iran. Her first novel, The Fortune Catcher, tells a love story that spans the Iranian Revolution. Her next novel will be completed in 2017. She lives in Atherton, California with her family.
“Why didn’t they sit us down and tell us us exactly what happened — there was a revolution, how it happened; why didn’t our parents sit us down and explain it to us? Well, I can tell you, in my family — we lived in the US most of the year — we did talk about politics. But when we were in Iran we did not talk about politics….Subconsciously I understood at that time, we were not supposed to, because it was too dangerous….They sheltered us to protect us.
