Shahla and Farhad met while graduate students in the US in the 1960s. Currently, Shahla is a children’s librarian and Farhad is a civil engineer. They have two children.
“I didn’t believe that the Revolution would happen. We could hear the news. We could hear people were not happy with the Shah. We could hear people were upset. We could see people in the street. But we could not believe, personally I couldn’t believe that one day the Shah would leave. Because Shah was in such a strong position. Especially when all these US governments, European governments were protecting him.
